A celebration of summer in Osaka. People packed themselves on the banks of the river like sardines to witness these fireworks, many dressed in traditional kimono and yukata. This was definitely the most brilliant fireworks display I have ever seen, and I found myself shrieking (literally, shrieking like a Japanese girl!) on many occassions at the 50-minute bombard-a-thon. The same sort of fireworks enthusiasm I had when I was five years-old. I was particularly impressed that they managed to have fireworks explode in the shape of Hello Kitty as well as the logo for the Hanshin Tigers baseball team (think: the "N" and the "Y" of the New York Yankees except an "H" and a "T").
