Beijing: Around Town.

A door in 798, a trendy artist colony converted from a Soviet-era industrial complex.





Standing in Tiananmen Square. We were there during a pretty historic weekend. The new Prime Mininster of Japan was making the first official visit to China in 5 years to kick off his election (notice the Japanese flag waving on the pole). We also saw press cameras swarmed outside the North Korean embassy because of the nuclear tests.

A structure devoted to the men and women of the Cultural Revolution outside the building housing Mao's body. Quite a fascinatingly creepy experience.
